‘T.S. Eliot and Anti-Semitism in C20th Literary London’ at JW3 London
The case for T.S. Eliot’s antisemitism was successfully prosecuted some years ago, but the recent publication of his complete prose and letters have complicated the issue since, like the old joke, some of his best friends were Jewish. ‘April is The Cruellest Month’ at Tara Theatre
Curated by Aviva, this Spring edition of the Tara Poetry series welcomes Mimi Khalvati, Nick Drake, Rishi Dastidar and Maria Jastrzębska to read from their recently published collections and provide balm for our soul during this cruellest of months. ‘Instructions for Living a Life’ at Tara Theatre
This Summer edition of the Tara Poetry series highlights poets who follow Mary Oliver’s poetic instructions: “pay attention / be astonished / write about it”. Series curator Aviva will be joined by local musicians and by three other award-winning emerging women poets; Jemma Borg, Sarala Estruch and Abigail Parry. Bradford Literature Festival
Aviva will be a presenter at Bradford Literature Festival, one of the most inspirational festivals in Britain, with authors from across the UK and around the world. The Big Jewish Summer Fete
The Big Jewish Summer Fete is a celebration of Jewish culture bringing together the entire Islington community, Jewish and non-Jewish, for a fun, family-friendly, free day out. Ledbury Poetry Festival
Aviva will be a presenter at Ledbury Poetry Festival, the biggest poetry festival in the UK, on behalf of which which she has been running Holocaust workshops in schools during 2018-19. She will be reading from Primers Volume Three as well as participating in a panel session about poetry and politics. For more information click here.

Jewish Historical Society (Essex Branch)
In this lecture on ‘Shakespeare and the Jews’ Aviva will be exploring whether Shakespeare was anti-Semitic, why he wrote about Venetian Jews and ask whether he drew his vision of them from real life. For more information click here.
